Permissions
Why TV Remote Requests Permissions
Plain-language explanations for operating-system permission prompts used by the production builds.
Local Network on iPhone
Used to discover and communicate with compatible televisions and streaming devices connected to your local network.
Nearby Devices or Wi-Fi Access on Android
Used to find compatible TVs or displays and establish local connections.
Location on certain Android versions
Certain Android versions may associate Wi-Fi discovery with a location permission. When requested solely for device discovery, TV Remote does not use it to provide continuous physical-location tracking.
Photos and media
Used only when you select photos, videos or other media to share with a compatible display.
Screen capture
Used when you intentionally start screen mirroring. Android displays a system confirmation before screen capture begins.
Notifications
Used for service messages, purchase information or optional product updates when enabled. Notifications can be disabled through device settings.
Advertising tracking
When applicable, used only after any consent required by the operating system or applicable law. You can review available choices through the app's Privacy Choices section.
Infrared
IR control uses the phone's built-in infrared hardware and normally does not require access to personal files or contacts.
